We’re a community of lifelong learners who believe in experimentation, continuous improvement, and the power of clarity. If you find energy in meaningful work and helping others grow, you’ll feel right at home here.

The Opportunity

The Director of Market Engagement leads the work that connects Aileron’s story to the people we serve — and converts that connection into participation, community, and impact. This role integrates marketing, sales, and community into one cohesive strategy that builds awareness, deepens relationships, and drives organizational growth. You’ll guide a small internal team and external partners, ensuring that Aileron’s presence in the market reflects our mission, serves our customers, and sustains our organization.

What You’ll Do

Marketing & Sales Strategy

  • Develop and implement a cohesive and connected marketing and sales strategy to attract new business owners, strengthen brand visibility, and grow participation.
  • Manage cross-channel campaigns (email, web, print, social, advertising) aligned to core offers and programs.
  • Lead Aileron’s external communications, storytelling, and visibility across the business community. Oversee the design and execution of Aileron’s sales rhythm and lead management process.
  • Ensure strong coordination between marketing and client engagement for lead qualification and follow-up.
  • Lead the sales pipeline and forecasting process; monitor conversion and retention metrics.
  • Equip the team to effectively communicate “what’s next” for every customer — creating visible, actionable pathways.

Community & Partner Relations

  • Foster ongoing connections with business owners, alumni, partners, and campus passholders.
  • Lead communications and activities that celebrate stories of growth, collaboration, and learning.
  • Support partnership development and outreach, aligning partners with Aileron’s mission and community.

Events & Experiences

  • Provide strategic direction and oversight for Aileron’s key events — including the Business Owner Series, Summit, and Founders Day — ensuring alignment with Aileron’s mission, audience, and brand.
  • Partner with internal teams to design event experiences that build connection, learning, and engagement.
  • Oversee event communications, marketing, and follow-up to extend impact and participation beyond the event itself.

Team & Partner Leadership

  • Supervise the Market Engagement Coordinator (primary on-campus presence).
  • Manage relationships with the marketing agency, freelance designer, and creative partners.
  • Collaborate across functions to deliver on strategic organizational goals

Brand & Message Stewardship

  • Maintain the clarity and consistency of Aileron’s brand and voice across all channels.
  • Oversee development of marketing materials, digital and print signage, and event communications.
  • Ensure all messaging reflects Aileron’s purpose, values, and the professional management philosophy.

Measurement & Learning

  • Track sales, marketing, and engagement performance.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to leadership on market trends and audience behavior.
  • Contribute to Aileron’s continuous improvement by applying feedback and data to guide future decisions.

Qualifications

  • Experienced (7+ years) in marketing and sales leadership.
  • Skilled in scaling sales beyond a consultative approach and toward a strategy that leverages human relationships where appropriate but also leverages technology to empower non-consultative sales.
  • Strategic and operational — able to design systems and manage/contribute to day-to-day execution.
  • A strong communicator who builds relationships through clarity, curiosity, and trust.
  • Comfortable using CRM (Hubspot), marketing automation, AI, and analytics tools to guide decision-making.
  • Energized by Aileron’s mission to help business owners lead thriving, purpose-driven organizations.

We’re a community of lifelong learners who believe in experimentation, continuous improvement, and the power of clarity. If you find energy in meaningful work and helping others grow, you’ll feel right at home here.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Market Engagement Coordinator to help grow both our mindshare and market share with business owners and their teams — from first awareness through long-term engagement.

In this role, you’ll help bring Aileron’s message, programs, and community to life across channels. You’ll coordinate marketing, communications, and community outreach activities that attract new customers, strengthen relationships, and make it easy for business leaders to take their next step with Aileron.

This role blends execution, coordination, and creativity — ideal for someone who enjoys both planning and doing, and who values clarity, collaboration, and curiosity.

  • Coordinate community events, and community communications.
  • Collect stories, testimonials, and insights that highlight impact and connection.
  • Strengthen peer-to-peer engagement and advocacy through storytelling and visibility.

Marketing & Communications

  • Coordinate the production and publishing of newsletters, blog posts, and social media content.
  • Manage campaign timelines, deliverables, and collaboration between the vendors, freelance designers, and internal teams.
  • Support digital and print marketing materials, signage, and event promotion.
  • Maintain web content and ensure program offers and pathways are current and clear.
  • Track and share engagement metrics to support continuous learning and improvement.

Collaboration & Systems

  • Partner with the Director of Market Engagement and the Client Engagement team to execute campaigns and marketing rhythms.
  • Maintain CRM and our sales pipelines and lists to ensure clean, accurate data that supports lead follow-up and engagement.
  • Document and improve processes for how we develop, design, and deliver communications and events.

Who You Are

You’ll thrive in this role if you:

  • Are organized, proactive, and thrive on bringing clarity to moving parts.
  • Value both relationships and results — you love to connect and deliver.
  • Are energized by collaboration and communicating across teams.
  • Enjoy working in a quick-paced environment that prioritizes experimentation and iterative learning.
  • Are comfortable with tools like project management boards, CRM systems, and content platforms.
  • Write and communicate clearly, with warmth and curiosity.
  • See marketing and community-building as vehicles for helping people grow and develop.

Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of experience in marketing, communications, and/or community engagement.
  • Experience coordinating campaigns and events.
  • Working knowledge of CRM and marketing tools (e.g., HubSpot, WordPress, Canva).

Aileron

About Us

Aileron is a nonprofit organization that believes professional management — a systematic way to run a business — can empower businesses to thrive in any environment. We help business owners grow in professional management so they can lead with competence and confidence, increase team satisfaction, and build sustainable, thriving organizations. In supporting America’s small business owners, Aileron changes the lives of families and communities across the nation.

Position Overview

We’re looking for a skilled and passionate Business Coach to join our team on a contract basis (1099). In this role, you’ll partner closely with our clients to offer personalized coaching, thoughtful guidance, and practical strategies to help them tackle real business challenges. The right person brings both solid business coaching experience and a genuine passion for helping leaders and their organizations thrive.

Who You Are

  • You’re a conscious leader who values authenticity and acts with intentionality.
  • You want to do meaningful, macro-level work that has impact at the organizational level while also developing the individuals leading the organization.
  • You’re a situational and adaptable leader who meets people where they are, and you welcome change for the sake of progress over perfection.
  • You ask good questions and practice intuitive listening.
  • You want to contribute to a “we” organization that values organizational systems over individual standards, and you value community, inclusion, and teamwork.
  • You’re a continuous learner with a curious mind, and you’re always seeking new ideas and perspectives.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Help clients understand their desired outcomes: You’ll facilitate discovery conversations with clients, getting context, asking questions, and documenting what you hear and observe. Together, you’ll learn about what they hope will be different for their business and themselves.
  • Create engagement plans: You’ll collaborate with the client and the Aileron team to build an engagement plan that combines Aileron services and non-Aileron activities to empower the client to reach their desired outcomes.
  • You’ll help your clients grow: You’ll show up as a trusted friend as you support, challenge, and hold your clients accountable. You’ll offer thought partnership and guidance, help your clients gain clarity and direction, monitor their progress, and adjust their action plans throughout their journeys.
  • Learn and grow in Professional Management: You’ll learn and practice Aileron’s DOC System of Professional Management, eventually becoming a subject matter expert and facilitating other services.
  • Introduce new ideas: You’ll contribute to the ongoing development of Aileron’s content, approach, and methods. You’ll support other Business Coaches by introducing new ideas and sharing your feedback and observations.

What Motivates Our Business Coaches

  • Client growth and transformation: Witnessing clients evolve, apply insights, and continue their growth journey is a major source of motivation for our team; you’ll feel at home if you find deep satisfaction in seeing clients get unstuck, gain clarity, and move forward with hope.
  • Emotional wins and personal impact: Celebrating emotional victories like being heard, acknowledged, and supported is especially meaningful for our coaches. We’re looking for other coaches who find motivation in helping clients experience peace, authenticity, or confidence.
  • Connection and trust: Building a trusted relationship—being seen as a confidant or a part of the client’s extended team—is a major motivator for us. We’re hoping you feel fulfilled by building genuine and strong connections with your clients.
  • Making a difference: Our entire team is bound by our shared desire to improve lives by helping business owners and teams achieve their potential; we find a sense of purpose in making a difference in the lives of others. We hope you do, too.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 15 years of business experience in various roles, business models, and market dynamics
  • Strong understanding of business operations, strategy, and management
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven track record of helping businesses achieve measurable results
  • Experience owning or leading a privately held business (preferred)
  • Available to be on-site at Aileron’s campus in Tipp City on a regular basis (preferred)
  • Available to work with Aileron 24-28 hours per week
