Creating an Outside Board Service

If you have already taken the Outside Boards Program and are considering creating an outside board, Aileron offers a service to simplify the process of building and using a board effectively. If you are ready, we are ready.

Aileron can help you:

• Walk through the entire process of building a board and provide tools, examples, and personal assistance every step of the way
• Clarify the characteristics of potential board members based on your business and planned results
• Find and recruit potential board members
• Interview potential board members
• Select and invite board members to be on your board
• Determine the necessary information to be provided to board members prior to the first board meeting
• Prepare for, facilitate and review up to three board meetings, and provide feedback and coaching to make future board meetings more effective
• Indemnify yourself, your company, and your board members

Here is how it works:

You will work with a team of Aileron staff members to guide you through the entire process of building your board as outlined above. Your Aileron business advisor will serve as your personal guide for each step.

After the first potential board members are selected, the first board meeting will be scheduled with Aileron’s support. After completing this service, you will have a three-member board with regularly scheduled meetings and the knowledge and skills to facilitate effective board meetings to take your business wherever you want it to go!
